Vlad Wisniewski Artist, Poet and Vamp.
Dark, Gothic, & Fantasy Artist, Robert Vlad Wisniewski, was born on the 5th of August 1968, always fascinated by the macabre, strange, and unusual. It's no wonder that I was drawn to the Saturday afternoon horror/sci-fi classics on TV. When I was able to read, and comprehend what I was reading, I enhanced my taste for the macabre with the works of Edgar Allen Poe, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Emily Bronte. After that, I began to draw these characters, as I imagined them.
Both sides of my family are rich in history. The "Wisniewski" were so named for their viciousness in battle. It was later in my life, shortly before my father died, that I uncovered that some of my ancestors were part of the Winged Hausers. The famous Polish knights, who helped defend Christiandom against the Turks. It is said that these knights, also fought along with the armies of Vlad Dracula. My mother's side of the family tree, provides me with my Scottish, Irish, and English roots. These countries are full of great legends and mesmerizing lore. From there, my artwork took on a whole aspect of warriors and gothic overtones.
I began Night Walker Art in 1996, after some rather disappointing views from my college classes, and the let down of what the so called art world thinks is fine art. Apparently what they view as fine art, and what I think is fine art, differs greatly. Hell! I think some paint jobs on Harley's classify as fine art.
Some of the more modern artists who inspire and impress me are, Frank Frazetta, Brom, and Burne Hogarth. Classical artists who have also influenced me are Rembrandt,DaVinci, Raphel, and Michelangelo. And last but certainly not least, is my good friend artist Joseph Vargo. Thanks.
I try to capture the romantic, sensual, erotic, and macabre in all my works. There are no deeper undertones of the wrongs of the world, or of society. It's just art. Simply meant to be viewed for your enjoyment and pleasure. I thank you for your time in taking to read my short bio. And I hope that you enjoy your visit to my realm. If you would care to e-mail me, feel free, feedback is great. And I will always respond, unless it's rude or obnoxious. Plus I would care to know, which prints you would like to see in different formats. Such as posters, T-shirts, and postcards, etc. etc. I wish you well and peace.
Pleasant Dreams, Vlad
